Centrelink
You may be eligible for JobSeeker (with a medical certificate) or other payments. Compensation you later receive may affect or require repayment of Centrelink payments.
Disability Support Pension
For people with a permanent condition that stops them working 15 hours or more a week for the next 2 years. Medical evidence is essential.
Hardship assistance
Banks, utilities and phone companies must have hardship processes. Ask for 'financial hardship' assistance.
Free financial counselling
The National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) offers free, independent financial counselling.
